Working off the Christmas excesses and putting the memories of mixed results in round 1 firmly behind him, Burts made his way to Riesa in Germany for the first event of 2025, and round 2 of the Junior FIM Super Enduro World Championship.
The atmosphere was absolutely buzzing with all the teams and riders raring to go as the race season picks up pace, and young Burts enjoyed a glimpse of the exciting opportunities ahead of him this season.

The track this weekend was no joke—fast and flowing, physically intense and with no room for mistakes, or to even catch your breath! Burts kicked off the weekend feeling confident after smashing out some intense training in Spain last week. But once underway, things started a bit slower than he’d expected. In free practice, the pack was pushing hard to hit those blazing lap times, and with a few crashes thrown in, it was a tough call to lay down a clean, fast lap.
Checkout the awesome rock gardens and rollers at Riese from the practice sessions, alongside plenty of onboard footage in the video below.
There would be more opportunities in timed practice but it was the same story. This time it was Burts who crashed and despite getting straight back in the action, he was trapped behind the tail-enders and couldn’t quite break through.
So it was on to the Last Chance Qualifier. The pressure was on! But guess what? Burts came out swinging, showing everyone why he’s one to watch in this series in 2025. He almost snatched the win but was edged out on the final straight, finishing in second place but this was enough to make it into the main night race and gave him a welcome confidence boost.
Despite not feeling 100% happy with how the day started, Burts absolutely turned it around in the night’s main races. With two solid performances and one EPIC second-place finish, Burts clawed his way up to third overall. YES, THIRD PLACE on the podium!

It just goes to show in the ups and downs of Enduro—you don’t need a perfect qualifying session to progress through the stages. The main focus is qualification then giving it everything you’ve got when it really matters.
The Junior class this year is insane—nonstop, flag-to-flag racing, and the level of competition has skyrocketed. Burts blasted through the intensity to find himself on the podium, in the spotlight and a force to be reckoned with in the coming events.

Next stop? It’s back to Walters Arena in South Wales. It’s going to be cold, wet, muddy, and ridiculously slippery—classic outdoor enduro chaos. And Burts will be going up against none other than the legend David Knight. LET’S GO!
Then the following weekend, it’s back to Super Enduro action in Romania for Round 3. Stay tuned for details on the next round over coming weeks.
