Triple D Motosport team rider Burts Crayston put in a determined performance at the latest round of the Plews Tyres British Extreme Enduro Championship in Helmsley, North Yorkshire, battling from the back of the pack to secure an impressive 4th overall.
It was a less than ideal start for Burts, who found himself last off the line. But what followed was a ride full of resilience and class with lots of positives, especially given the relatively recent return to racing from injury.
Settling into a steady rhythm through the opening stages, Burts kept things nice and controlled before kicking things up a gear halfway through the race.
As the laps ticked on, he dug in deep, casually picking off riders one by one and pushing his way through the field. At one point, Burts had worked his way into an outstanding 3rd place, showing the kind of pace and determination we know he’s capable of.
A small mistake on the final lap though opened the door for world top-ten rider Francesc Moret of Spain to slip through into that final podium slot, leaving Burts to take a well-earned 4th overall.
The conditions certainly added to the challenge, but if anything Burts seemed to thrive as the course quickly turned into something of a mud bath. What started as a near-perfect day was quickly turned on its head after heavy showers rolled in making the course increasingly technical and unpredictable. With the conditions playing to Burts’ strengths, he was able to keep pushing forward while others struggled.
Most importantly though, it’s fantastic to see Burts back smiling, being competitive, and clearly well on his way to returning to full fitness and strength after injury.

Next up, Burts heads to Leighton Hall in Lancashire on 21st–22nd March for another round of extreme/hard enduro with Edge Off-Road. We’ll be looking to build on this momentum and push even further up the order.
Stay tuned. 💪
