2026 GASGAS MC 85 17/14

Together with our global team of talented, young test riders, we've developed what can only be described as an incredible 2-stroke motocross bike! From the new frame and WP shock to the improved motor and redesigned bodywork, just about everything is new, making for a seriously fresh MC 85 in 2025. As well as the increased performance, the riding experience is considerably improved too. Slimmer ergonomics and a handlebar bend created specifically for younger racers inspires confidence and makes laps at the track so much more enjoyable. The end result of all the changes is a bike that delivers incredible performance and rideability for such a small motorcycle. And if there's one thing that we can guarantee, it's that kids will absolutely love it!

STYLE

Styled just like our full-size motocross bikes, the MC 85 features bold red graphics applied using a durable in-mould process. The bodywork is enhanced with GASGAS-specific textures, including a gripper seat cover designed for maximum control whether seated or standing. It's a look that lasts and a feel that supports confident riding.

BODYWORK

Inspired by our full-size motocross bikes, the MC 85 features scaled-down bodywork designed specifically for young riders. The slim rear end and lowered seat height (871 mm) make it easy to move around on the bike, whether seated or standing. Side panels are positioned close to the frame and subframe for optimal leg grip, while GASGAS-specific textures on the tank spoiler and seat enhance control and comfort.

HANDLEBARS

Built for control and comfort, the MC 85 features black anodized aluminum handlebars with a bend designed specifically for younger riders. The shape helps kids ride with confidence and proper technique, while black ODI grips -- just like on our full-size bikes -- deliver a secure hold. A sleek crash pad adds protection and completes the race-ready look.

AIRBOX

Designed for performance and easy maintenance, the MC 85 airbox features top-mounted ducts that channel airflow efficiently into the motor. The Twin Air filter is securely mounted using a snap-lock system and can be accessed without tools by simply removing the side panel. It's a smart setup that keeps things flowing and makes filter checks quick and hassle-free.

FUEL TANK

Designed to integrate seamlessly with the MC 85's frame and bodywork, the fuel tank holds 5.4 liters -- plenty for long motos and full-throttle fun. A compact fuel cap, just like the one used on our full-size bikes, keeps things clean and race-ready.

HANDLING

FRAME

Engineered for young racers, the MC 85 frame is built from high-strength steel and inspired by our full-size motocross bikes. Its geometry delivers straight-line stability and sharp cornering, with a flatter steering head angle and wider turning radius for precise handling. The rear shock mount design absorbs big hits with ease, while red frame protectors with a textured surface add grip and protect the glossy Electronic Red finish.

SUBFRAME

The MC 85 features a lightweight one-piece subframe made from aluminum reinforced with polyamide glass fiber. Engineered for strength and precision, it reduces weight while enhancing rigidity and rider feedback. Its compact design helps centralize mass, contributing to the bike's sharp handling and slim ergonomics.

TRIPLE CLAMPS

The forged triple clamps on the MC 85 keep things smooth and controlled, even when the track gets rough. Designed to flex just right, they help young riders stay comfortable and in charge. A sealed top nut keeps out dirt and water, while the compact 17 mm size makes adjustments quick and easy. Clean, tough, and built to ride hard -- just how we like it.

STEERING HEAD

With a flatter steering head angle and a wider turning radius, the MC 85 handles like a dream. The geometry helps keep things stable at speed and lets riders carve through corners with ease. It's all about sharper lines, smoother control, and more fun on every lap.

WP FORKS

The WP XACT AER fork on the MC 85 is all about smooth rides and sharp control. Tuned to work perfectly with the rear shock, it delivers balanced performance and confidence through every corner and jump. With 278 mm of travel and lightweight construction, it helps young riders stay fast, focused, and having fun.

WP SHOCK

The WP XACT rear shock on the MC 85 is built for control and confidence. With a compact design and shortened stroke, it works perfectly with the bike's geometry to deliver better traction and a more planted feel. Offering 289 mm of travel and full adjustability, it lets riders dial in their setup and stay in charge -- no matter how rough the track gets.

SWINGARM

The MC 85 swingarm is built from a single piece of die-cast aluminum and shaped for performance. A refined casting process cuts weight by 300 grams, while the flatter angle improves rider movement and control. With a 20 mm rear axle and clear chain adjustment marks, setup is simple and solid. A tough chain guard and glider keep things running smooth -- even when the track gets rough.

MOTOR

MOTOR

The MC 85 motor is built to deliver serious performance. With a strong low- and mid-range punch and proven top-end power, it gives young riders everything they need to push hard and have fun. The engine layout helps centralize mass and improve balance, while a controlled exhaust valve and 6-speed transmission keep the power flowing smoothly. Lightweight and responsive, it's made for getting on the gas and going fast.

MAPPING

Making sure performance and reliability is never in doubt, the MC 85 is equipped with two different motor maps. The standard one is designed to work best on almost every kind of circuit, but when conditions get heavy or sandy, simply unplugging a connector under the fuel tank activates a richer map. To make this adjustment easier, we've introduced a handlebar-mounted Map Select Switch that's now available as a Technical Accessory. Once installed, it's then just a case of pressing a button on the bars to flip between the two maps to suit any track, quickly and easily.

CYLINDER & PISTON

The MC 85 cylinder features a power valve system that controls both the exhaust valve and sub exhaust port. This setup delivers strong mid-range power and torque, making the bike easier to ride and reducing the need to work the clutch -- especially when the track gets deep and loose.

TRANSMISSION

The MC 85 runs a manual 6-speed transmission built for durability and smooth shifting. A self-cleaning gear selector keeps things running clean in muddy conditions, while the forged shift lever with a foldable tip and no-dirt design adds reliability and control when it matters most.

CRANKSHAFT

The MC 85 crankshaft is precisely balanced to reduce vibration and improve engine feel. Its mounting position makes maintenance straightforward, so riders and mechanics can spend less time in the garage and more time on the gas.

CRANKCASE

Our crankcases are manufactured using a high pressure die-cast production process, which keeps wall thickness to a minimum while retaining strength and durability. The compact design of the crankcases position the internal shaft arrangements as close as possible to the bike's center of gravity, further helping the bike's seriously impressive handling characteristics.

EXHAUST SYSTEM

The MC 85 exhaust system is built for performance. With a smooth-flowing expansion chamber and no internal weld seams, it delivers clean power across the rev range. Finished with a sleek black anodized silencer, it looks fast and runs even faster.

CLUTCH

The MC 85 clutch is reliable and robust, ensuring that when the chequered flag is in site squeezing every last drop of power out of the MC 85's motor is super easy to do. Allowing riders to keep the revs high, the bike features a super lightweight hydraulic system by FORMULA, which removes the need for adjustment and delivers a consistent biting point. Internally the MC 85 has a diaphragm spring clutch, which is characterised by its single diaphragm steel pressure plate instead of traditional coil springs.

PARTS

BRAKES

The rear brake master cylinder is designed to stay out of the rider's way, eliminating unwanted contact with boots during aggressive riding. Braking performance remains sharp and consistent, with a rear caliper bracket that integrates seamlessly with the chassis. A new rear foot brake lever offers two adjustment options, giving smaller or younger riders better control and comfort.

RADIATORS

Compact and efficient, the PANKL radiators are built to handle the heat of competition. Coolant flows through the crankcases to maintain optimal engine temperature, ensuring consistent performance and reliability. A screw on radiator cap design makes access easier and faster -- no tools needed.

WHEELS & TIRES

Black anodized rims stand out against the red bodywork and deliver serious durability. The rear hub is precision-machined to fit the chassis and features bearing seals borrowed from our full-size bikes. Both wheels -- 17" front and 14" rear -- are wrapped in MAXXIS MAXXCROSS MX-ST tires for dependable grip and stability across a wide range of terrain.

FOOTPEGS

Oversized footpegs give young riders the grip and control they need. Despite their larger size, they're lighter thanks to a refined die-casting process. The no-dirt design prevents mud buildup, and the new mounting position keeps them tucked in tight -- reducing the chance of catching in deep ruts or scrubs.
