This week Neil and Burts Crayston took a quiver of Stark VARG electric bikes up to Cumbria Moto Park for an evening that was all about riding hard, talking straight and pushing what electric motocross can be.
The event gave riders the chance to rag the VARG around the indoor track while the winter rain was lashing down outside. We’d love to say it was just full-send laps on one of the most talked-about bikes in the sport, but the truth was we couldn’t even get close to running the VARG at full power.
As Burts was warming up the track he maxed out at just 15bhp! These machines are rapid, so running any higher than this would have seen riders launch themselves beyond the barn and punching a hole not just in the roof, but the space-time continuum while waving at a confused sheep in the next postcode.
Back on the ground and in-between sessions there was plenty of banter, honest feedback, and the chance to grill the UK Sales Director, Dave Edwards on everything Stark - from power modes and battery life to what’s coming next for the brand - including the HUGE news that in 2026, the infamous Red Bull Erzbergrodeo will open registration to ALL VARG Owners, allowing the VARG to compete under the same sporting and technical regulations as petrol entrants.
There was no sales fluff, just real answers from the top dog. The verdict?
Massive grins, surprised faces, and plenty of folk rethinking what an electric bike can really do.
This was just one of plenty of opportunities to demo the Varg with more demo events planned for 2026. The bikes provided a great experience and the track at Cumbria Moto Park was the perfect environment for a Christmas knees up with a difference.
