Right then. If your December calendar is already choking on festive fun runs, forced walks around soggy winter markets and Christmas jumper parties… here’s the one thing you’ll actually want to do the week before Christmas: a Stark VARG indoor demo day and night at Cumbria Moto Park. Get your hands on that!
It might be the season for mince pies, but there’s no mincing around here. And no queues for mulled wine either. Just a warm*, dry, properly-lit indoor track and the most savage electric dirt bike on the planet waiting for you to grab a handful.
Cumbria Moto Park is England’s first indoor electric MX track, built for year-round riding in a safe, dry setting. It’s on the edge of the Lakes in an old agricultural chicken shed and runs sessions for kids and adults on a range of stock bikes from KTM, or you can of course bring your own.
This basically means you get all the grip and fun of motocross without being soaked to your nads or freezing your throttle hand off.
Anyway, the venue speaks for itself and if you’ve not yet been, why the hell not? Stop dicking around and check this place out, and even make it into a family day out - there’s something for everyone with their balance bike arena, track viewing area and refreshments on tap.

*Technically we can’t promise the heat, but this will be one HOT event you won’t want to miss.
The Stark VARG. Instant torque, zero excuses.
We’ll have the MX and EX variants offering a taster for both Enduro and MotoCross riders.
And if you’ve not ridden one yet, buckle up because this is Christmas coming early and will beat anything you’ll find in Santa’s sack.
The VARG is light, ridiculously agile, and stupidly fast - with power you can dial anywhere from “nice and steady” to a full 80hp send-fest. You can even tweak the power curve, engine-braking feel and traction control through the Stark app.
The bikes are quiet, punchy, and make petrol machines feel like they’re running on Christmas leftovers. Here at Triple D we’ve been banging on about the torque and control of these things for a reason - once you twist a VARG, it’s hard to go back.
Cumbria Moto Park is a fabulous venue with events and riding for all ages. Ride rain or shine, you're guaranteed a great day out and it's the perfect venue for our demo event.
Cumbria Moto Park is a fabulous venue with events and riding for all ages. Ride rain or shine, you're guaranteed a great day out and it's the perfect venue for our demo event.
Join us at CMP from 3pm on Wednesday 17th December. There’ll be riding opportunities until 8.30pm across a variety of different sessions to suit riding styles and abilities, so you won't want to miss the start.
You must be a rider (this is not the time for your first rodeo) and will need to bring all your own riding gear. These VARG’s are full-size bikes, so you must have experience and be comfortable on a full size enduro or MX bike.
The event is free, but as it’s the season of goodwill, we’re asking for a small donation on the day to cover the cost of putting the lights on. There'll be refreshments available to buy as well, so you won't go hungry!
Drop-ins will be welcome on the day, but priority will be given to those who book in advance so we can plan the evening to maximise your riding experience.
We’ll have up to 5 bikes available, with both VARG EX and MX models on parade.
To add a little extra spice we’ll also be joined by the National Sales Manager from Stark VARG, so bring your awkward questions and your “yeah but what about…” chat and find out exactly how these things level up against everything you’ve ever known about Enduro and MX.
We may even be able to drop in the odd celebrity appearance - but for now our lips are sealed.
And if you fancy making a mini trip of it, Wheyrigg Hall Hotel is right there for food, drink and a bed. Neil’s verdict on this joint is the grub is GOOD, so well worth checking out.
If you're looking to save on accommodation, then in keeping with Christmas traditions there’s a stable on site, although we’d probably suggest bringing your own tent for the dedicated camping area.
While everyone else is doing the same old December shuffle, you’ll be indoors ripping a VARG like it owes you money - perfect if you’re thinking “new bike, new me” for January.
To get yourself on the Christmas list, the only way to book on this event is through Triple D - so call and speak to either Neil or Burts on 01539 732666.
We’ll take drop-ins on the day if you can't quite commit, but if you want a guaranteed slot on a VARG, tell us you’re coming.
We'll see you in the shed. Don't expect to find any angels, but you might find at least one wise man. Bring your gear, but your Christmas jumper? That can stay at home.
Cumbria Moto Park is based on the edge of the Lake District, 10 mins drive from the market town of Wigton. You’ll find them at Kelsick House, Kelsick, Wigton, Cumbria, CA7 4TL.
