The 2026 KTM 1390 Super Adventure R has landed at Triple D — and it’s an absolute weapon.
If you’ve been waiting for KTM to turn the “R” dial back to proper off-road ADV mayhem while keeping the miles-eating comfort, this is your moment. We’ve got the first 2026 bikes in the showroom right now, ready for you to come and eyeball in the flesh. Limited production run, so once they’re spoken for… that’s it. First come, first served to get on the list.
Below is what’s new for 2026, and why it’s a genuine step on from the previous Super Adventure models.
KTM have taken the already-rowdy 1301 platform and punched it out to 1350cc, bringing 173 PS and 145 Nm to the party. The big story isn’t just size but it’s Camshift variable valve timing, which gives two cam profiles for a broader, smoother power spread. Translation: more grunt down low for technical climbs, then a proper surge when you crack it open on fast dirt or big road hauls.
Compared to the 1290/early 1390 bikes, the 2026 motor feels like it’s got two personalities - tractor-torque when you need control, and a top-end haymaker when you want to send it. Plus KTM are stretching valve-check intervals out to 60,000 km (~37,000m), which is huge for riders who actually use these things for real adventures.

This is where the 2026 R really plants its flag. KTM have gone full enduro-inspired with WP XPLOR 48 mm split-forks up front and a WP XPLOR PDS shock out back. It’s fully adjustable for compression, rebound, and preload, with 240 mm travel front and rear.
This means there’s more support when you’re smashing rough ground at speed, better small-bump sensitivity in the gnarly stuff, and proper tuning range for luggage, pillions, or rally pace. The progressive damping system (PDS) rear setup also keeps things planted without a linkage hanging low which is ideal for rocks and ruts.
For 2026 the R gets all-new bodywork, shorter, more off-road focused screen, fresh LED lighting, and extra storage binnacles in the cockpit area. KTM also reworked rider contact points with footpegs having a slightly wider spread and being lowered, bars are wider and adjustable, and the overall silhouette is slimmer where it matters.
All this means that rather than feeling like you’re perched on top of the bike you get a more ‘locked in’ feel. It’s easier to move around standing up giving less fatigue on long stints, and more confidence when the trail gets sketchy.
Rudi SchedlThe cockpit on the 1390 Adventure R gets a seriously slick upgrade with an 8.8-inch portrait-mounted touchscreen TFT with anti-glare, anti-fingerprint, and optically bonded clarity. This gives you way cleaner navigation and menu control with gloves on, better visibility in bright conditions, and a more intuitive layout when you’re bouncing down a trail and need info at a glance.

Up front, KTM have fitted new Brembo master cylinders and the familiar big-bike stoppers (twin 320 mm discs, radially mounted calipers).
More bite, better modulation, and less lever effort — especially welcome when you’re loaded up or coming down steep loose descents.
As standard you’re getting a full rider-aid arsenal:
Optional extras add proper spice too; Rally Mode, Quickshifter, Hill Hold, Adaptive Brake Light, and Front Radar / advanced cruise tech for road transitions.
The 2026 setup feels more configurable for rider style allowing you to dial in how much you want the tech to support your ride on the dirt, then flip to full-fat road stability for the way home.
From KTM’s official spec sheet:
So yes — it’s still a big bike. But it’s a big bike that’s been designed to get properly dirty.
And the pricing?
This ride launches at £17,349 OTR with 4 years warranty and 8 years roadside assistance. With low-rate finance deals available this bike can part of your 2026 adventures at 0% over 24 months, or just 3% over 36 months.

The Super Adventure R has always been the choice for riders who want Dakar attitude without giving up V-Twin shove. For 2026, KTM have doubled down on that mission:
It isn’t a mild refresh. The 1390 Adventure R is KTM taking everything they learned from the last generations and sharpening it into a proper “go find trouble” machine.
