As the nights draw in and the weather turns, there are plenty of bikes that will be tucked away for winter. But just because your pride and joy isn’t out on the road doesn’t mean it’s out of sight from thieves. Unfortunately, darker nights and quiet garages make for easy targets, and once your bike’s gone, it’s usually long gone…unless you’ve got a tracker fitted.

That’s where Triple D Motosport can help provide you with complete peace of mind now we’ve become official agents for BikeTrac and Datatool trackers - two of the best systems on the market, both offering smart, reliable protection for your bike, but are just as effective for other vehicles such as scooters or quad bikes.

Why You Need a Bike Tracker

Let’s be honest, if your bike disappears in the middle of the night, you’re not going to go charging after it yourself. Chasing vans down the motorway, breaking into garages, or knocking on doors carries risk that honestly isn’t worth taking. That’s where a tracker earns its keep.

Both BikeTrac and Datatool trackers come with 24/7 monitoring and work hand-in-hand with the police and recovery services. That means trained professionals handle the chase, so you can focus on getting your bike back safely and fast, from a distance. That’s the real value in the subscription: the recovery team does the hard work for you.

BikeTrac vs. Datatool: Which One’s for You?

Both brands are insurance-approved, GPS-based trackers offering theft alerts, real-time tracking, and battery-friendly operation. But they’ve got slightly different strengths depending on what and how you ride.

Which Tracker Should You Choose?

BikeTrac is the ideal choice for riders who want full-fat protection with all the bells and whistles - automatic rider recognition, instant alerts, and professional monitoring backed by Securitas. It’s perfect for road bikes and touring riders who want total peace of mind.

BikeTrac Lite keeps the essentials like live location tracking, alerts, and 24/7 coverage, but trims down the extras for a lower monthly cost. It’s great for off-roaders, dirt bikes, or secondary machines you still want protected without the top-tier price tag.

Datatool Stealth offers a slick, battery-friendly setup with its Rider Tag and 95% recovery rate. Meanwhile, the Datatool Quantum³ is a battery-powered, no-hardwire option — brilliant for ATVs or bikes without a full electrical system. Both are managed via the Datatool app with live updates and “safe zones” to keep false alarms to a minimum.

Subscriptions That Make Sense and Give Peace of Mind

Both BikeTrac and Datatool use flexible subscriptions with monthly payments or the option to save with an annual, multi-year or even a lifetime plan. Remember though you’re not just paying for an app; you’re paying for a 24-hour monitored service, coordinated police recovery, and a team ready to act the second your bike moves when it shouldn’t. That’s a full security team, not just a notification.

Whether it’s a road bike, dirt bike or even an ATV, every machine’s at risk once it’s out of sight. A tracker makes sure you’ve still got eyes on it day and night.

What else can be done to deter bike thieves?

If you want to go one step further with your bike security, Datatool DNA is a smart, low-cost way to make your machine a lot less appealing to thieves. It’s a security marking kit that uses thousands of invisible micro-dots - each carrying a unique code linked to your bike and your details on a national database.

Once applied, these tiny markers can be found on multiple parts of your bike and are almost impossible to remove completely. If stolen parts turn up, the police can trace them straight back to you. It also comes with visible warning stickers to act as a deterrent.

There’s no ongoing subscription with the DataTool DNA security marking system. You just buy the kit, apply it yourself, and you’re covered for life. It’s not a tracker, so it won’t help with live recovery, but it’s a solid extra layer of protection that works perfectly alongside a tracker.

Think of it as locking the door and marking everything inside - belt and braces security for your bike.
